FAQ
What type of animals do you see?
We see dogs, cats, and pocket pets such as rabbits, rats, mice, guinea pigs, and hamsters.
Do you take walk-ins and emergencies?
As a single doctor practice, our goal is to give your pet the personalized care they need. As a result, we’re limited in our staffing and time. In order to ensure we’re able to give your pet the attention it deserves we request you call ahead for an appointment time. We will do our best to accommodate last minute appointments, but in the event we are unable to see your pet or for after-hours emergencies we recommend:
Blue Pearl (Formerly NorCal)
Animal Internal Medicine & Specialty Service
San Francisco SPCA
Sage Redwood City
What do I do if I’m running late or need to cancel my appointment?
As soon you know you won’t be here for your scheduled appointment time, please call us at (650)359-8387. Please note that if you’re more than 10 minutes late for your appointment you may need to reschedule to a later time or day at the doctor’s discretion.
We kindly request at least 24 hours notice for any cancellations or reschedules except in emergencies. If you’re seeing an outside specialist for an ultrasound or TPLO there may be a cancellation fee at the specialist’s discretion.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover Card.
If you need a payment plan option, we accept Care Credit.
We are now a Trupanion Express hospital! Have your Trupanion insurance claims processed while you wait and only pay the difference at the time of your visit!
Do you accept pet insurance?
We work with all pet insurance companies. Please see our Insurance FAQs for more information.
Do you have a pharmacy?
We do have a full-service pharmacy on site as well as a new online pharmacy.
We keep a small stock of Hills Science Diet and Royal Canin prescription therapeutic diets at our hospital. We can also order all prescription diets as needed. Please note, orders need to be in no later than Monday at noon each week. If the hospital is closed on Monday due to a holiday, orders need to be in by noon on the previous Friday. Hills deliveries arrive Tuesday, Royal Canin deliveries arrived Wednesday.
Please note: all prescription refills- including parasite prevention and therapeutic diets- require an exam with a doctor within the past 12 months.
